## Stress, Anxiety & Sleep

### Stress, Anxiety & Emotional Wellbeing

You may find yourself overthinking, anticipating what could go wrong, replaying conversations or struggling to relax even when there is no immediate reason to feel on edge. Over time, worry, tension and emotional overwhelm can become such familiar responses that they begin to feel automatic.

RTT can help you understand the beliefs, expectations and learned responses that keep these patterns in place and begin changing the way you respond to uncertainty, pressure and emotional triggers – supporting greater calm, emotional steadiness and trust in your ability to cope.

- · Overthinking
- · Worry
- · Emotional overwhelm
- · Difficulty relaxing
- · Self-doubt

### Sleep & Rest

**When your body is tired but your mind is still busy.**

For many people, bedtime is when the mind becomes most active – reviewing the day, planning tomorrow, worrying or focusing increasingly on whether sleep will come at all.

Where difficulties around sleep are linked with stress, worry or learned patterns around rest, hypnotherapy can help calm the mental activity surrounding bedtime and rebuild a more natural association between sleep, safety and letting go.

- Difficulty switching off
- · Bedtime anxiety
- · Stress-related sleep difficulties
- · Restlessness
- · Difficulty relaxing

Persistent or unexplained sleep problems should also be appropriately assessed by a healthcare professional.

## How we begin working on this concern

1. 1

### First conversation

We identify when tension is strongest — during the day, around particular situations or before sleep — and agree on an initial focus.
2. 2

### RTT session

An RTT session usually lasts 90–120 minutes. We work with the experiences and associations connected with your specific concern.
3. 3

### Support after the session

After the session, you receive a personalised recording to listen to regularly over the following weeks. We stay in regular contact during this time. After a minimum of three weeks, we review what you have noticed and whether further work would be useful.

## Before we begin

### What if I find it hard to relax?

You do not need to reach a particular “depth” of hypnosis. You take an active part and can ask for a pause.

### What if my sleep problems persist?

Persistent or unexplained sleep problems also need medical assessment. Hypnotherapy does not replace it.

## Would you like to talk about the tension you are carrying?

We can start with how you feel during the day or before sleep and what you would like to be different.
