## Fertility & Conception Support

Trying to conceive can gradually become much more than a physical process. Each month may bring hope, waiting, disappointment, questions and renewed pressure.

For some women, there is a known medical reason for fertility difficulties. For others, investigations do not reveal a clear explanation. **Unexplained infertility can bring its own kind of uncertainty – because there is no obvious answer to focus on or problem to solve.**

You may be trying to conceive naturally, undergoing investigations, taking fertility medication, or moving through assisted reproduction such as IUI, IVF or IVF with ICSI. Whatever the path, the emotional burden can become significant.

RTT can help you work with the stress, fear and internal pressure surrounding conception, while also exploring beliefs and emotional associations that may be operating beneath conscious awareness.

### What may be sitting beneath the surface?

You may recognise fears or thoughts around:

### Fears & previous experiences

- What if it never happens?
- fear of pregnancy or childbirth;
- fear of hospitals, needles, procedures or medical intervention;
- previous miscarriage, pregnancy loss or a difficult reproductive experience;
- guilt connected with an earlier pregnancy or termination;
- fear of losing control of your body;

### Motherhood & life changes

- worry about how pregnancy or motherhood may affect your career or independence;
- fear of not coping or not being a good mother;
- concerns about finances or the responsibility of having a child;
- fear that a baby may change your relationship;
- messages or experiences from childhood that shaped what motherhood means to you.

You may consciously want a baby more than anything and still discover that another part of you carries fear, uncertainty or an old protective response. **That does not mean that an emotional block is necessarily causing a fertility problem.** It means there may be another layer of the experience that deserves attention alongside the physical and medical one.

The purpose of the work is to reduce that internal conflict, help you feel safer and calmer, and allow your mind to focus less on fear and more on where you want to go.

## The emotional side matters too

Hypnotherapy does not replace fertility assessment, reproductive medicine, antenatal care or obstetric care. It can work **alongside medical care**, supporting the emotional and psychological side of the experience.

## Who you will work with

## How we begin working on this concern

1. 1

### First conversation

We discuss where you are in your journey — trying to conceive, investigations or treatment — and which part of the emotional experience feels hardest.
2. 2

### RTT session

An RTT session usually lasts 90–120 minutes. We work with the experiences and associations connected with your specific concern.
3. 3

### Support after the session

After the session, you receive a personalised recording to listen to regularly over the following weeks. We stay in regular contact during this time. After a minimum of three weeks, we review what you have noticed and whether further work would be useful.

## Before we begin

### Does this replace fertility treatment?

No. It supports the emotional experience alongside medical assessment and treatment.

### Could fear or emotional stress contribute to fertility difficulties?

Possibly. They might not necessarily be the cause, but they may be one part of a more complex picture.

## Would you like support with the emotional side of this journey?

We can begin with the strain you are carrying today and how you would like to feel through your next steps.
