Emotional Support & the Mind–Body Connection

The mind and body are not separate systems.

Individual online work with Marta in Bulgarian and English.

In our first conversation, we discuss emotional strain and your current medical care. Together, we consider whether this approach is right for you.

Mind–Body Connection

Stress & the physical experience

What we think, feel and experience does not exist only in the mind. Our emotional state can influence the nervous, hormonal and immune systems, and prolonged stress can affect the way the body functions, recovers and responds.

For some people, emotional strain and chronic stress can intensify physical symptoms or become one of several factors contributing to the onset or flare-up of a health condition. Pain, tension, digestive symptoms, skin reactions, fatigue and other physical experiences can also become closely connected with stress responses, expectations and learned patterns in the nervous system.

Support alongside medical care

Hypnotherapy works directly with this mind–body connection. By addressing stress responses, beliefs, emotional patterns and learned associations, it can help change the way the mind and body respond together – and for some people, this can bring meaningful improvement in physical as well as emotional symptoms.

Hypnotherapy can also be used alongside medical care to support people before, during and after medical procedures – helping to reduce stress and distress, manage discomfort and support the recovery process.

This does not mean that physical symptoms are “just in your mind”, nor does it replace medical diagnosis or treatment. Where a medical condition is present, hypnotherapy can be used alongside appropriate medical care as part of a more integrated approach to wellbeing.

About Marta and her training

How we begin working on this concern

  1. First conversation

In our first conversation, we discuss strain, your experiences and current medical care to assess whether this approach is a suitable fit.

  2. RTT session

An RTT session usually lasts 90–120 minutes. We work with the experiences and associations connected with your specific concern.

  3. Support after the session

After the session, you receive a personalised recording to listen to regularly over the following weeks. We stay in regular contact during this time. After a minimum of three weeks, we review what you have noticed and whether further work would be useful.

What happens inside an RTT® session?

Before we begin

Does this replace medical treatment?

No. Hypnotherapy does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. Tell Marta about your current care during the initial conversation.

Does this mean my symptoms are “just in my mind”?

No. Working with the emotional experience does not dismiss physical symptoms or the need for medical care.
