Your RTT session and follow-up
From the work inside your session to your personalised recording and support over the following weeks.
What happens inside an RTT® session?
An RTT® session usually lasts around 90–120 minutes.
Once we have agreed clearly on what you would like to work on, I guide you into a relaxed, focused state of hypnosis.
From there, the work may involve exploring memories, emotions, images or associations connected with the issue.
The aim is not simply to revisit earlier experiences.
We are interested in understanding:
What did you experience?
What did you feel?
What meaning did you give it?
What did you come to believe?
And does that belief still serve you today?
We then work with what emerges – understanding it from your present perspective, reframing earlier interpretations and moving towards the thoughts, feelings and responses you want to strengthen now.
You remain part of the process throughout. We talk during the session, you can answer questions and describe what you are experiencing.
The process is collaborative rather than something that is “done to you”.
Change does not always look the same
One of the most useful things to understand after an RTT® session is that change does not necessarily arrive in one particular form.
How change can show up
Immediate
You notice something has shifted during the session or shortly afterwards.
Perhaps an issue feels different when you think about it, an emotion is less intense or you respond differently to something that would normally trigger the familiar reaction.
Cumulative
The change develops gradually.
Small shifts begin to build over the following days and weeks – in your thoughts, choices, emotions, confidence or behaviour.
You may notice that responding differently becomes easier with repetition.
Retroactive
Sometimes you do not notice the change while it is happening.
Instead, there comes a moment when you look back and realise:
“I haven’t been worrying about that.”
“I handled that differently.”
“That situation did not affect me in the way it normally would.”
This is why observation matters.
Why the personalised recording matters
The session creates an opportunity for new understanding and new perspectives.
The personalised audio recording helps you return to and reinforce them.
Your recording is created around the themes, language and direction that emerged from your own session rather than being a generic meditation or affirmation track.
Listening regularly over the following weeks gives you repeated exposure to the perspectives and responses you want to strengthen.
The recording is therefore not a separate part of the work. It supports the integration of what began during the session.
The weeks after your session
The period after the session is not about constantly checking whether something has “worked”.
It is an opportunity to notice.
You may become aware of changes in the way you think about the issue, the emotional intensity attached to it, the choices you make or the way you respond in situations that previously felt difficult.
We stay in regular contact during this period, and after a minimum of three weeks we look back together at what has changed, what you have noticed and whether anything else would be useful to explore.
Sometimes the work on a particular issue feels complete.
Sometimes more time with the recording is helpful.
And sometimes another layer becomes clearer and a further session may be appropriate.
