Support for Fear of Childbirth
Preparing the mind as well as the body.
Individual online work with Marta in Bulgarian and English.
In our first conversation, we discuss your fear of childbirth. Together, we consider whether this approach is right for you.
Birth Preparation
Fear of birth can come from many places. You may have heard frightening birth stories, seen distressing images, experienced a difficult previous birth or simply feel frightened by pain, medical intervention or not knowing exactly what will happen.
Sometimes the deeper fear is not childbirth itself, but losing control – of your body, your choices or the situation around you.
RTT can help identify the associations that have made birth feel threatening and work to replace them with a stronger sense of safety, confidence and preparedness.
Common fears we can work with include:
Pain, control & previous experiences
-
fear of pain;
-
fear of losing control;
-
fear of hospitals or medical intervention;
-
fear following a previous difficult or traumatic birth;
Safety & expectations
-
fear that something may happen to you or your baby;
-
anxiety about Caesarean section or other procedures;
-
fear that your body will not know what to do;
-
frightening birth stories or images that have stayed with you.
Relaxation, imagery and mental rehearsal can also help you prepare for birth with a calmer expectation of the experience.
The goal is not to promise a particular type of birth. It is to help you feel more grounded, prepared and able to respond confidently to whatever your own birth requires.
The emotional side matters too
Hypnotherapy does not replace fertility assessment, reproductive medicine, antenatal care or obstetric care. It can work alongside medical care, supporting the emotional and psychological side of the experience.
Who you will work with
I’m Marta Encheva-Malinova, PhD, a hypnotherapist and Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) practitioner.

How we begin working on this concern
-
First conversation
We discuss what feels frightening — pain, loss of control, medical intervention or a previous birth experience — and agree on a focus.
-
RTT session
An RTT session usually lasts 90–120 minutes. We work with the experiences and associations connected with your specific concern.
-
Support after the session
After the session, you receive a personalised recording to listen to regularly over the following weeks. We stay in regular contact during this time. After a minimum of three weeks, we review what you have noticed and whether further work would be useful.
Before we begin
Does this guarantee a particular type of birth?
No. The aim is emotional preparation and greater confidence, not a promise about the course or outcome of birth.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
You remain aware and can ask for a pause or stop at any point.
Would you like to talk about what frightens you about birth?
We can begin with your specific fear and the emotional preparation you are looking for.
